International road cycling race Istrian Spring Trophy will kick-off tomorrow with the prologue in the city center of Umag, after that there are three more stages on the schedule. Istrian Spring Trophy is a race with the tradition that dates back to 1961. In the beginning it was just a small race for local races, it was in 2000 when professionals joined the races. Race is part of UCI Europe Tour since 2005 and has a UCI 2.2 category. Race was known as Adriatic Highway, but change the name to Istrian Spring Trophy in 2006.

Team Adria Mobil Cycling was celebrating overall victory in 2013 when Matej Mugerli won the race. Race is also defending champion from 2017 race.

City of Umag will stage the Thursday’s prologue on the two kilometer long loop right next to the seaside. Second and third stage will be very difficult, with lots of climbing and mountain finishes – on Friday in Labin, on Saturday in Oprtalj. Last stage of the tour will not be as hard and we expect a sprint finish in Umag.
