Rogina’s success on somewhat chaotic second stage

Rogina’s success on somewhat chaotic second stage
Expectations have fulfilled, the stage from Vrsar to Oprtalj was hard and the battle for stage and overall victory was very harsh. Seven riders managed to escape, Adria Mobil Cycling was in the role of hunter. Our best rider of the day was Radoslav Rogina in tenth, he’s seventh overall.

Second stage of Istrian Spring Trophy was quite dramatic, with many attacks in the first part of the race. Seven cyclists managed to escape after 50 kilometers, but this time without Adria Mobil’s riders. Cause for confusion lies in the decision of Team Virtu Cycling that didn’t defend the yellow jersey. Kasper Asgreen was in the lead, and decision not to defend it is against the unwritten cycling rules.

Breakaway group managed to secure four minutes, this is why Adria Mobil Cycling started the chase. Some individuals joined in and the escapees were caught on the last climb to the finish. Radoslav Rogina finished the stage in tenth and is now seventh overall. We expect a battle for stage victory on Sunday, new leader Kristen Hagen is most likely already a race winner.

Radoslav Rogina: “Hardest stage of the race is behind us, and it unfolded as we expected. Unfortunately we didn’t have our team member in the escape group and we had to chase. Everything was open on the end, I was with the best on the finish climb, but I didn’t have power for better result.”
