Jon Božič was fighting for yellow, but stayed in white
Jon Božič was in the breakaway also on the second stage of Tour of Croatia, with a goal to take an overall lead. He was close, but on the end he had to settle with white.

Third stage will already say a lot about the overall winners of the race, but before that we had another long stage on the program. Stage had a flat finish, but there was quite a bit of climbing in the middle part. Jon Božič was again very active, he made a bold attack towards the yellow jersey. He was again in the breakaway and got four more seconds. He was virtually already in the lead. But the things got out of control in the final kilometers of the race. Group feel apart, Jon crossed the finish line 12 seconds behind the stage winner. Radoslav Rogina was in the same group; he was 20th and our best rider today.

Jon Božič kept the jersey of the best young rider, and is now fifth overall.

Third stage will be very difficult with the finish climb to Saint Jure.
