Tour of Slovenia: Jon in white, Gašper in blue

Tour of Slovenia: Jon in white, Gašper in blue
The title is a little bit deceiving, but it’s not a lie. Jon Božič is best young cyclist also after 2nd stage of Tour of Slovenia and defended the white jersey. Gašper Katrašnik is second in the KoM competition, but the leader Hill also wears a green jersey, which means that Gašper will actually wear blue jersey.

Stage from Maribora to Rogaške Slatine was 152,7km long, and it developed like expected. Long breakaway, and sprint finish for the end. Adria Mobil was active in both parts – with Gašper Katrašnik in the breakaway and with Dušan Rajović in the sprint. Dušan was 7th on the end.

Gašper is now 5th overall, Jon is just one place behind him.

Dušan Rajović: “After the end of the Gašper’s breakaway the whole team was working just for me, and gave everything to take me to the best position for the sprint. I was close to even better result, but I had a good battle.”

Srečko Glavar, Sports Director: “I’m happy with the outcome of the today’s stage. We had a successful breakaway that ended when expected. Strongest teams control the situation and there is not room for surprises. Rajović wasn’t injured after yesterdays crash and was today in the battle with the best sprinters. 7th place is excellent result on this kind of race. Jon Božič defended the white jersey, which is also great. Third stage will be a whole different kind of game and other cyclists will step on the stage. Adria Mobil has three for the second part of the race and we’ll see how high can they reach.”
