Sprinters are still fighting, Per hits the ground
Romanian Eduard Michael Grosu is the winner of the 3rd stage of Tour of Qinghai Lake. He was fastest in the sprint of the bigger group, where Adria Mobil had six cyclists. Before that Grega Gazvoda was in the long solo break.

Stage was very hard, but the winner was decided by a sprint regardless. Eduard Michael Grosu (Nippo - Vini Fantini - Europa Ovini) was one of the few spinters that “survived” the challenging climb to 3.820 meters high pass, and was later rewarded with the stage victory and yellow jersey.

Adria Mobil was again in the frontlines. Grega Gazvoda attacked 40 kilometers ahead of the finish and was in the solo break all the way till the five kilometers mark. After that it was up to a big group to decide on winners, Adria had six cyclist there, all except Dušan Rajović.

Gorazd Per was the one that took the role of the team sprinter, but unfortunately he crashed in the last kilometer. Take a look at his Instagram profile and you will see how hard he hit the ground.

Adria is in the good position regardless. We’re now ahead of even harder stage with the climb to 3.435 meters above sea level.

Grega Gazvoda: “I knew the stage, we had exactly the same route in 2017. I came to the top of the mountain pass in the group of 20 cyclists, about a minute after two escapees. I attacked on the start of the descent and quickly caught both leaders, but they couldn’t keep up with me, so I had to go in the solo break. I was caught, the teams in the main group were well organized today. But the race is still long and we’ll for sure do more attacks.”
