Gregor Gazvoda in 200 kilometers long breakaway
8th stage was very long, but riders didn’t hold back at all, many of them tried to escape. Group of six riders managed to do a successful breakaway, among them was also Gregor Gazvoda. Four remaining riders of the group were caught 10 kilometers till the finish.

Winner of the longest, 237 kilometers long stage on Tour of Qinghai Lake was once again Romanian Eduard Michael Grosu  (Nippo - Vini Fantini - Europa Ovini). Again he won in the sprint finish. Dušan Rajović (Adria Mobil) was 7th today. Nothing big happened as far as overall standing are concerned, Radoslav Rogina is still in 3rd.

Gregor Gazvoda: “Start of the stage was fast and nervous, but finally six of us managed to escape. That was at 35th kilometer. About 100 kilometers later two of the group fall away, and four of us continued. Our lead extended to four and a half minutes at 185th kilometer, but that was not enough and the group with the sprinters caught us with just ten kilometers to go.”
