Dušan Rajović second on the last day of Greek tour
3-day race Tour of Rhodes finished with the sprint finish in the hearth of the city of Rhodes. Herman Dahl (Joker Fuel of Norway) was fastest, Serbian Dušan Rajović (Adria Mobil Cycling) was second! There were no big changes in the overall standings.

Today’s race was very fast until breakaway of four riders, one of them was also our Žiga Horvat. But team BEAT Cycling Club – the team with the overall leader on the race – picked up the pace towards the end of the race and catch them towards the end; this set the stage for another sprint finish. We’re of course aiming for victory, but the crash in the last corner stopped Dušan for a little bit and he had to settle with second place.

Dušan Rajović: “Team took me to the good position in the sprint, but there was a crash in the very last corner and I was closed for a little bit. I gave everything, but I couldn’t get higher. It would be nicer to finish with the victory, but the second place is also very nice.”

Last stage was 181,9 kilometers long, with more than 2000 altitude meters. Martijn Budding defended the yellow jersey, our best cyclist in overall standings was Radoslav Rogina in 14th.

Team from Greece will now go back home, and we’ll be back racing later in the week on the Istrian Spring Trophy.
