Small details made the difference in Umag
16th Istrian Spring Trophy (UCI 2.2) started with two kilometres long prologue in Umag. Due to short distance the gaps very extremely small, the lucky winner of the day was German Niklas Märkl (Development Team Sunweb). Adria Mobil's best cyclist was Gašper Katrašnik in eleventh place, with a gap of one second behind the winner.
Sports director Branko Filip had this to say about the performance of our riders: “We expected young & explosive cyclists in the front. Gaps were really small and every small detail influenced on the results. The gaps are in fact so small that the race really starts tomorrow.”
Friday stage is very interesting with attractive finish on Labin.
