Primož Roglič had a successful operation
Primož crashed on the Sunday race Poreč Trophy in Croatia. He was taken to the University Medical Centre Ljubljana, where he had an operation. He has an injury in the area around the eye.

Crash happened in village of Labinci near Poreč, about 15 km till the finish. In a group of 160 riders everybody was fighting for a good position, everybody wanted a good position before the final sprint. Roglič crashed on the descent, at the speed over 60 km/h. He took a strong blow to the area around the eye, but he is already sending messages after today surgery, so that must have gone all right.

Primož Roglič: “I was better, but also worse. They fixed me up good.”

For years the competitors are complaining about too many riders on the start lists on Istrian spring events. Roads are narrow and in poor condition in some sections. Every year there are many accidents and lots of injuries. Everything has to do with the financial side of the race – organizers get money from hotel bookings and with that money they finance the race.

Primož Roglič should compete in the two stage races, both perfect for him with lots of climbing. Istrian Spring Tropy starts on Thursday, and Coppi e Bartali on 26th.
