Marko Kump second in Ardennes

Winner of 189 kilometers long stage is Australian Kaden Groves (SEG Racing Academy), but Marko Kump could be the winner if he wouldn’t have some problems in the sprint finish. This time around he took second. There are three more stages ahead of us, one on Saturday and two on Sunday.
Marko Kump: “Pace in the first part of the stage was moderate, which was perfect for us. But the last part was difficult and stressful due to narrow and bad roads, we tried to stay up in front in this part of the stage. I had enough power for the victory today, but entangled and almost crashed, that is why I’m happy with second place as well.”
Sports director Branko Filip: “I’m very satisfied with today’s second place, I’m also happy with how focused and active the team was during the stage. We’re on the narrow and wavy Ardennes roads, where staying up in the front is very important. This is how we can control the race and stay out of problems. Tomorrow’s stage has 10 mountain finishes, our leader on this stage will be Žiga Grošelj.”
