Third place for Matej Mugerli on the prologue
Matej Mugerli had a fantastic start of the Istrian Spring Trophy, stage race that started today in Croatia. Matej won the race last year and will give everything he has to make it two in a row. He showed how fast he is on the today’s prologue, he was just two seconds down on Mühlberger from Austria and Sazanov from Russia.

Mugerli had much better start of the race than one year ago when he finished the opening prologue with eleventh time. This is good starting point ahead of the main stages that are very much to his like. The whole Adria Mobil team will support him, including very experienced Radoslav Rogina leading the way.

Matej was very happy after today’s short stage: “I’m very pleased with the result. My run was clean, so I’m happy. Stage was short, but I still felt my legs; I hardly had any power towards the end.”

Tomorrow the riders will have to face 158 km long stage from Poreč to Labin. The stage will show the strength of the teams and the riders with high overall ambitions will have to stay upfront. Last 5 kilometers is a climb from Raša to Labin, with especially challenging granite stones road in the last 500 meters.
