Two stages for start of Slovakia

Two stages for start of Slovakia
63rd Tour of Slovakia started in the city of Bardejov. Team Adria Mobil is not racing with its strongest lineup as some riders took time off racing and are getting ready for the upcoming world champs and Tour of Croatia. We had two stages on the program in the first day. Norwegian Alexander Kristoff won sprint finish of the first stage, Swiss Stefan Küng was fastest on the second challenge of the day – 7,4 km long time-trial.

Team coach Branko Filip: “We were racing in the cold and windy weather. WorldTour teams had everything under control and they didn’t let anyone to get to far away from the peloton. Main group came together in the sprint finish, but we had a lot of crashes and the bunch split in small groups. Our sprinter Dušan Rajović lost a good position and had to settle with 15th place.”

Belgian Yves Lampaert took over the overall lead after the afternoon time-trial.

TEAM: Gašper Katrašnik, Dušan Rajović, Žiga Grošelj, Žiga Horvat, Aljaž Jarc and Jon Božič
