Per very active on Stage 2, Brajkovic still in the hunt for overall victory

On the very hard Stage 2 of Tour of Antalya (2.1 UCI), which was made even harder because of the rain, David Per managed to get in the breakaway and Jani Brajkovic finished with the best in the front group.

Second stage of the race was hilly in the first part and flat in the second, and tempo was made even higher because of the rain and nervousness in the peloton. Our DS Branko Filip described what was going on: »We had three climbs, and the weather was really tough for the riders, we even had some hail. Peloton broke into three parts, David Per and Jani Brajkovic were in front group and David even managed to get into the breakaway for half of the stage. Jani stayed out of trouble, he is very motivated and we are really expecting a lot from tomorrow’s stage.«

Gasper Katrasnik and Marko Kump, two of our fast guys, finished in the second group on the road. »David wanted to sprint in the end, but he began too soon and was left without a chance to fight for a high place. We want to give him some more opportunities this year so he can regain the winning mentality and confidence, because we know he can do it,« said Filip.

Tomorrow’s stage will bi just over 100 kilometers long with an uphill finish on Termessos.
