Bruno Maltar’s 160 km among the escapees
Stage from Voutires to Vouzires opened the 40th edition of Circuit des Ardennes, famous French stage race. Three escaping riders defined the stage, among them was also Adria Mobil’s Bruno Maltar.

Bruno Maltar, Christopher Piry and Endrick Puntso are today’s heroes. They escaped just a few kilometers from the start and ride solo till two kilometers till the finish. After the 100 km mark they already had an incredible 11 minutes and 50 seconds gap, but today that was not enough for the final triumph.

Team manager Boštjan Mervar was satisfied with how the stage developed: “This was a real Belgian classic. There was a real drama in the big group, since none of the teams wanted to take the lead and incredible gap was formed. We stayed calm for the whole day, we know that tomorrow is a day for the king stage.”

Bruno Maltar was the hero of the day: “I attacked after two kilometers, soon two riders caught me. I was feeling strong for the whole time, but I was a little bit short on the end. The three of us were working together, everybody did his share in the front. French rider was strongest on the mountain finish, I gave everything what I had and so I’m happy with the race.”
On the end the whole peloton came in together, Adria Mobil’s best rider was Radoslav Rogina in 11th place.
