21st edition of Tour of Slovenia
21st edition of biggest Slovenian road race was introduced in Ljubljana, in the main office building of partner company Telekom Slovenije. Many of best cyclists will again race on Tour of Slovenia, but the race is also main goal for the most of Slovenian teams. Race will take place from 19th to 22nd June.

»This year's race will be interesting due to the strong international selection and configuration of teams,« said Bodgan Fink, race director. Race will again start in Ljubljana, capital city of Slovenia, with individual time trial. This can already create important gaps. Second stage will start in Ribnica and finish in nearby Kočevje, with some hard climbs in-between. Escaping riders can have success here, but most likely the result will not influence the final overall standings. However the third stage will – with final climb to Sveti Trije kralji (Three Holy men) with the altitude difference of 909 meters. Last stage will start in Škofja Loka and finish on the traditional location in Nove mesto, where award ceremonies will take place. Race is 514 km long.

Both organizers, Cycling federation of Slovenia and cycling club Adria Mobil, will give more stress to the safety of the riders and other participants, and together with the Slovenian police they will organize a symposium on the topic »Safety of cycling events«. On this event everybody will be able to hear the rules and standards for safety and organization of cycling events.

18 team will race 2014 Tour of Slovenia, among them four team from the elite company of UCI WorldTour teams. These teams will of course race with best Slovenian riders in their ranks. Slovenian teams will be represented by Radenska and Adria Mobil; Adria will have Radislav Rogina in the front lines, defending the 2013 overall victory. Competition will be again very strong, so it will be very hard to repeat this, but Slovenian riders know how to prepare for this race and have clear goals. And as always, they will give everything they have in their legs.
