MARJAN ZUPANC SAID GOODBYE

MARJAN ZUPANC SAID GOODBYE
MARJAN ZUPANC, who chaired the Novo Mesto Cycling Club from 1984 to 1990, passed away at the age of 91. During this time, the club flourished in all areas of its operations, and its members, including Sandi Papež, Jože Smole, Srečko Glivar and Bogdan Fink, carried the club's name across national borders and all over the world with excellent results. He invested a lot of effort in organizing the Balkan Cycling Championship (BAKOP) in Novo Mesto, where in 1985, Sandi Papež celebrated an unforgettable victory in front of a huge crowd along the course and at the finish line on the Main Square. Marjan Zupanc attracted many sponsors to the club, who provided its members with excellent conditions for operation and competition, including our pharmaceutical giant - Krka d.d. He was also a long-time member of the club's board of directors and has a lot of credit for the construction of the Novo Mesto velodrome in 1996. We will keep him in our fondest memories, and we express our sincere condolences to his family!🖤
