NEJC PETERLIN TENTH AT THE EUROPEAN CHAMPIONSHIP IN BELGIUM

Heusden-Zolder in Belgium was the venue for the European Track Cycling Championships for members from 12 to 16 February 2025, where our Nejc Peterlin and Vid Murn also competed in the jersey of the Slovenian national team, accompanied by Josip Radaković and Jure Zrimšek. Nejc Peterlin impressed us in his debut among members with 10th place in the Points Race. He rode excellently, boldly and at the same time prudently. For competing among such an elite, professionals, he earned the highest score. Results: https://www.uec.ch/resources/.../lists/res/m_pr.pdf Vid Murn competed in the Elimination Race disciplines, where he came in 22nd, and the Scratch Race, where he came in 21st. Nejc Peterlin and Žak Eržen also competed in the royal discipline - Madison. After a lot of bad luck and two falls by Nejc Peterlin, which he did not cause and unfortunately could not avoid, our boys were forced to retire. In the second fall, which occurred on the 87th lap of the race, when Nejc and Žak were in 13th place, Nejc hit the wooden floor with his shoulder and head at high speed. Fortunately, he was not seriously injured, he walked away with abrasions and splinters in his body. As expected, the performance at the members' European Championship was a demanding task, but at the same time an important experience before the European Championship for juniors and younger members, which will be hosted by the Portuguese Anadia on Wednesday, July
