Primož Roglič wins international race Croatia-Slovenia
Typical mountain rider Primož Roglič is the star of today’s 177 km long classic race Croatia-Slovenia. He cowered the early breakaway of six riders, which turned out to be a great move. The group managed to create a vast gap of almost 9 minutes, witch was eventually enough to finish the race ahead of peloton.

This classic race started in Zagreb, capital city of Croatia, and went through Zaprešič and boarder crossing Rigonce to Slovenia. The course went through Brežice, Krško, Studenec and Šentjernej to the finish in Nove mesto. The riders had to do four laps there, the so called “Balkan laps”. Last laps can change the progress of the race, and every cyclist has a chance for a success – the sprinter or the mountains specialist.

Seven breakaway riders came together to Novo mesto today, then Roglič started to attack. The group was smaller and smaller, the last rider to fell of was David Wohrer of Austria, he lost contact with Roglič at 6 km till the finish. Primož Roglič crossed the finish line alone and took the fourth victory for Adria Mobil Cycling on this race.

Primož Roglič: “I’m surprised that I won today. I definitely didn’t thought it could finish this way. I found myself in the breakaway group and then I was surprised how strong I was. I could attack and came alone to the finish.”
