Tomaž Nose ends successful racing career
Tomaž Nose has put a mark on the Slovenian road cycling scene with his numerous achievements. He took a vast number of top results as a professional athlete, but unfortunately he is also known for the number of crashes. They made this great rider from area of Gorjanci a complete rider, but the last accident from a year ago disrupted the training rhythm and preparations for the top-level racing. Due to all of this he decided to finish his professional racing career.

2014 season should be Tomaž’s thirteen season as an elite rider, but due to the accident the season finished before it really started. He was racing for team from Novo mesto throughout his career, with exceptions of 2004 & 2005 seasons, when he was wearing a jersey of a Swiss professional team Phonak. Tomaž Nose was one of the most valuable Adria Mobil Cycling riders in the past season and deserves a lot of credit for the team success. His most important victory is overall title on the Tour of Slovenia, on that race he beat Italian Vincenzo Nibali, one of the today’s top riders.

Tomaž Nose: “Reason for finish my 21-year long career is a serious injury from last year. Without that I would be racing for at least five seasons more. I took the decision because of a chance of another accident like that and all the consequences that follow. I still feel slight pain when I go on a bike. This is why I took this decision. I would like to stay connected with the team also in the future and if possible I would love to join them on some of the events. I would like to help, I had been in cycling for a very long time and I will not just forget everything I know, I’m also too attached to this sport. I will be riding only for myself from now on, days of competitions are behind me.”
