Chocolate – for the sweet memory on the racing career

Chocolate – for the sweet memory on the racing career
Tomaž Nose, one of the most successful Slovenian riders of the past years and winner of Tour of Slovenia in 2007, had a big farewell party on the Adria Mobil Cycling headquarters in Novo mesto. President of the club thanked him with the unique caricature and almost one square meter big and 7 kilos heavy chocolate – for the sweet memory on his racing career and new energy for the new challenges in the future.

“Every story has an ending, but it also means a new start.” These words were written on the invitation letter for the big celebration in the honor of Tomaž Nose. He decided to finish 21-years long racing career, full of ups and downs. Some of the “downs” were the reason for the decision for the early finish of the career. Last injury, result of an accident at the end of 2013, was the reason why he was out of racing for the season.

A lot of people came to the club to celebrate this special moment with Tomaž, including Sonja Gole, general manager of Adria Mobil, Mojca Novak, club president, Tomaž Grm, president of the Slovenian Cycling Federation, parents, fans, coaches, young riders, members of the media and many others. Program was narrated by Janko Hrovat and Tomaž Nose himself, and they also did a quick overview of his long career. Tomaž said thanks to everybody that supported him and took most of the time for the young riders and gave them a lot of encouraging words. He also stressed that success can only come from hard work and education is also very important.

Young riders had their own way to make this party more lively – they put together “Adria Mobil Cycling Band” and took care of the entertainment.

Lets go back in time and take a look what were Tomaž Nose’s words after the overall victory on the Tour of Slovenia:
“To be perfectly honest, I was dreaming about this since the moment I sat on a bike for the first time. To take a victory in front of your fans, your friends and in front of the people closest to you, those people that are with you in the hardest of time, is something very beautiful.”
