New podium finish for Adria Mobil
City of Madinat Al Shamal was host of the second, 116km long stage of Qatar’s Tour of Al Zubarah. Cyclist had to do one big and one small lap. Winner of the stage was last year’s overall winner Yousef Mohamed Mirza Bahihammad. Adria Mobil’s riders exceled again, this time David Per was on the podium.

Flat stage again developed with strong influence of the wind and tactics of the strongest teams. Main peloton fall apart and joined back together several times. The most important breakaway started with on the last, 13km long lap; ten riders were there in the escape, three of them in Adria Mobil jersey. David Per was the best among them, he finished third in the stage and kept the jersey of the best young rider. Kristjan Fajt was sixth and remained in second place overall. Primož Roglič surprised again – he found him self in the breakaway group and took 10th place, which contributed a lot to the team success.

David Per: “Out main job today was to defend the jersey of the best young rider and Fajt’s second place overall. We’re racing like a real team throughout the race. Fellow riders helped me to save a little bit of strength for the final part of the stage. With a little bit of luck we could be even higher, but I’m also happy with third.”
