Slovenian road cycling season starts in Izola
Second Grand Prix Izola will be held this Sunday, on 1st March 2015 with the start of the main race at noon in the city center. The defending champion of the race that is organized by Slovenian Cycling Federation and city of Izola, is Italian Cristian Delle Stelle, now a member of the Polish CCC Sprandi – Polkowice team and also a fellow rider of Slovenian Grega Bole.

Race is in the UCI calendar with the categorization 1.2. The race will be held on the roads from izola to Gažon, Šmarje, Dragonja, Sešovlje and back to Izola; riders will have to do 4 laps in the total distance of 144 km. 26 teams with 200 riders from all over the Europe will start the race. Adria Mobil team has a clear goal – to improve on last year’s race; that is fourth place of Matej Mugerli.

Klemen Štimulak: “Everybody on the Adria Mobil team is highly motivated before the first Slovenian race of the season. The race is not easy, but I think we are a strong team and that we have riders for every possible outcome of the race. I hope on a little bit of sports luck and nice weather.”
