Chain has stopped Marko Kump

Chain has stopped Marko Kump
Umag in Croatia hosted the 2 km long prologue, first part of the traditional Spring Trophy race. Austrian Luks Pöstlberger from team Tirol won the stage, Adria’s best rider of the day was Primož Roglič in eight.

Start of the season didn’t go according to Adria Mobil Cycling’s plans. The team is weakened in Croatian Istria, since Klemen Štimulak got ill just before the race. Radoslav Rogina is also “out”, he crashed on the last race in Umag and had a surgery yesterday.

Marko Kump was a favorite for this prologue, but in an unfortunate situation the chain on his bike fell off the chainring and he lost a rhythm and precious seconds. Primož Roglič stepped-in to save the Adria Mobil’s honors and set the eight time of the day, two seconds behind the today’s winner.

Despite problems, Adria Mobil is still a favorite for overall victory and today’s short race will not have much influence on the overall results. Marko Kump and Primož Roglič are in amazing form, and they can already go to the top of the leader board tomorrow, on the stage with the 3 km long finish from Raša valley to Labin.
