Primož Roglič moves ahead
Austrian Markus Eibegger won second stage of Istria Spring Classic. The stage itself was pretty sleepy, nothing super exciting happened on the way from Vrsar to Motovun. All team were waiting for the last climb to Motovun. The stage also almost certainly confirmed the overall winner, it is hard to believe that the final stage will bring changes on the top.

Primož Roglič: “We are working great as a team. Compared with yesterday I was much stronger in the today’s finish. I have to be satisfied with the performance, not so with the result, since I lost the lead in the very end. Experiences play a mayor role in this hard finishes. I survived the final climb, if I would get the hard legs as I did yesterday, I would be still walking up that road…”

Team manager Boštjan Mervar: “In second stage we were racing for Marko Kump, he is in great shape. Our goal was to get him to the finish with little gap as possible and then he would get back the time with the bonuses on the Sunday’s stage. He is a sprinter and the today’s results is something normal, but we were still hoping that he will keep up with the pace of climbers. Primož Roglič did a god job on the Motovun finish, with a little bit more tactics he could get more out of the race. We will race on the stage win tomorrow.”
