Marko Kump, aka Arrow from Dolenjska, wins Grand Prix Adria Mobil
Grand Prix Adria Mobil, international road race in the organization of Adria Mobil Cycling and in honor of 50th anniversary of club's main sponsor, Adria Mobil, finished like a dream. Local hero Marko Kump won the race in the sprint finish.

»Arrow from Dolenjska«, as is Marko Kump's nickname, won the race ahead of Filippo Fortin (GM Cycling Team), third was another Italian, Mattia Gavazzi (Amore & Vita). Matija Kvasina of Croatia, riding for Austrian team Felbermayr Simplon Wels won the King of Mountains competition.

Race was 168,3 km long, with two mountain finishes on Brezovica, 538 meters above the sea level. The race was very windy, but also always in the control of team Adria Mobil. The team was on the race with only seven riders, but they were working according with the plan and they managed to bring Marko Kump to the finish sprint in Novo mesto. After that it was on him to prove how fast he is and he did that in a known winning style.

Two Austrians Martin Schoffman (Team Felbermayr Simplon Wels) and Lukas Pöstlberger (Tirol Cycling Team) escaped in the middle of the race and managed to create a gap of three minutes, but with 15 km to go, the main peloton in charge of Adria Mobil started to cut into that gap. »Home team's« team manager Boštjan Mervar said that the race was harder than expected, especially since he was missing Radoslav Rogina and Klemen Štimulak. However, he didn't hide the satisfaction after the victory.

164 riders from 22 team started Grand Prix Adria Mobil. The race was held in windy conditions, but that didn't stop thousands of fans who cheered for riders along the road. Hundreds also came to the finish line on the main square in Novo mesto. They had a chance to take part in the program that included also the race for juniors and kids of the Adria Mobil Cycling offspring, they were racing on the time-trial with adjusted rules and distance. All of this is in a way just a preview of the Tour de Slovenia that will take place from 18th till 21st June.
