Marko Kump takes the stage and leader’s jersey
Second stage of Tour of Croatia finished with the victory of Adria Mobil’s Marko Kump. He was fastest in the sprint finish and took the overall lead due to the time bonus. Third stage with the finish on mount Učka will be decisive.

Marko Kump already had the legs for victory on stage one, but the technical finish of the race didn’t allow it. Today it was a different story, the team took advantage of Polish team CCC Sprandi Polkowice and saved enough power for the sprint.

Marko Kump after the stage: “Another f****** day. Up & down, left & right, wind from everywhere. Somehow we managed to save enough strength for the final laps in Zadar. We knew that we have to be up in front and guys again delivered. It was a very nervous finish, but somehow I managed to get in the good position before the last turn. After that I just put my head down and pushed as hard as I could. My legs were great and the team was great. The team brought me to the right place for the sprint. I believe we deserved today’s victory! THANK YOU ALL!!!”

Team captain Radoslav Rogina has a different view on the today’s stage: “The stage was pretty calm. Two riders escaped on the 30th kilometer and CCC went in the lead and controlled the race. We helped, but not a lot. With 40 km to go the battle for the positions in the loops around Zadar began. It was unbelievably fast and it was very stressful. We helped as much as we could.”

Marko Kump is now in the lead, but we expect a new leader after the third stage – it’s time for climber to take the central stage. Adria’s favorite for the mountains is Primož Roglič; this is what he told us ahead of the hardest stage of the race: “I feel great and can’t wait to start this stage. Everything depends of what will happen till the last climb. I will wait almost to the top, then I will…”
