Adria Mobil Cycling within expectations after stage one
Russian Artem Ovechkin (Rusvelo) won the first stage on the 22nd edition of Tour of Slovenia. He was just hundreds of a second faster than Italian Salvatore Puccio (Team SKY) on the opening time trial. Adria Mobil’s best rider was Primož Roglič in 16th place.

Adria Mobil’s cyclists are happy with the outcome of the first stage. Primož Roglič, team’s main contender for the overall victory was excellent with 16th place and the gap of 13 seconds. Radoslav Rogina, team’s second strongest weapon, was 58th with gap of 28 seconds.

Radoslav Rogina: “I’m not really satisfied with my performance. The result was similar like in the past years, but I have a feeling that the gap is too big this year.”

Team manager Boštjan Mervar: “We are still in the game. This is now most important. Roglič is very close to the best and he will have a nice opportunity to advance on the tomorrow’s stage. There are no time bonuses for the stage winners, which means that we will have to attack with full throttle. There are quite a lot riders that excel in climbing.”
