Drama in the finish of the 5th stage
Fifth stage of 2015 Tour of Qinghai Lake will be remembered by a mistake of one of the marshals. Adria Mobil’s Radoslav rogina was about to win the stage and take the yellow jersey when he was directed to the wrong road by a marshal. Fortunately Primož Roglič was in the group of the four riders following him and he took the stage victory, making Adria Mobil Cycling’s day less frustrating.

Stage developed exactly like Adria Mobil wanted. Rider in the yellow jersey fall back and group of four riders was alone in the lead. Team manager Boštjan Mervar described the situation: “This stage was the one we were aiming for way ahead of the arrival to China. Everything was perfect till the last 500 meters. Rogina, Roglič, Alizadeh & Colorado attacked on the HC climb about 50 km till the finish, and managed to get on top two minutes ahead of yellow jersey Polivoda. They extended their lead to 2:20 till the finish. Radoslav Rogina was already in the virtual yellow jersey after hiss attack and the lead of 100 meters. 500 meters before the finish he was directed to the wrong road by the marshal who should lead the follow vehicles off the course. Rogina realized that he is on the wrong road, turned around, but already fell back for 15 seconds. Sprint of two was by Primož Roglič and he took the stage victory. Commissaries saw the situation, but they couldn't do more than to award Rogina with the time of the winner. Which is a shame – he would have advantage of 20 seconds, but now he is 5 seconds behinds. We are disappointed, but we’ll not surrender!”

Race is not even half way through and this situation shouldn’t break their spirits. It’s important to focus and put things back in order – maybe even tomorrow.
