Marko Kump: »One more day and then we go home!«
There is just one more day separating Adria Mobil cyclists and overall victory on the Tour of Qinghai Lake. We are running out of nice words to describe their racing in China – today Marko Kump won again on the round stage in Zhongwei. This is his fifth victory on this race and 16th in the season!

Tactics of team manager Boštjan Mervar are now pretty basic – keep the minimal lead of Radoslav Rogina in the overall lead. We could even say that Adria had a day off today, since other team excepted that Adria Mobil team will win the race and their focus went to the stage. So the team from Novo mesto didn’t work too much on the loops of this flat stage, teams aiming for stage victory did most of the work. This worked great also for Marko Kump, he is a fantastic sprinter. He won with great confidence and left all the Italians behind him.


Marko Kump after the stage: “Nothing special happened today, it was flat, but fast stage. Roads were wide, there were not a lot of turns. Last kilometer was pretty chaotic, but we managed to keep the good position for the spirnt. On the end we won… Another day and we go home!”

Radoslav Rogina, the leading rider on the race: “Everything developed perfectly for us, there was a escapee right from the start. Other teams were chasing it and wanted a sprint, but on the end Marko was the fastest.”
