Pardini’s first victory on Istrian Spring Trophy
Belgian Olivier Pardini is overall winner of the stage race Istrian Spring Trophy that finished today in Croatian Istria. He was second in the exciting finish of the last stage, and won the race overall – his final overall time is the same as that of Dutch Martijn Tusveld, leader till this morning. Adria Mobil Cycling finished the race with third place of David Per on today’s stage and fifth place overall for Jure Golčer.

Matej Mugerli won today’s windy stage, just like he already won couple of races in Istria. Matej has a good feeling for attacks, his timing is perfect and he knows how to keep a small lead ahead of he peloton. Team Adria Mobil also has a reason to celebrate – David Per was fastest in the peloton behind the two escapees that were caught on the finish line. Jure Golčer kept fift position in the overall standings.

This is what team member had to say after the race:
Jure Golčer: “I’m very happy with the result in Istria and start of the season in general. I lack speed on climbs for even better results. I think I was never as good in this time of the year. I hope I have a good season ahead of me and I already look forward to the next races.”

Team manager Mervar Boštjan: “I’m happy that it’s over and that we are OK. This race doesn’t suit us, it’s not hard enough. Race is very stressful and full of crashes, so I admit that I would like to race somewhere else. I’m happy with the results, for something more you need a little bit of luck.”

Team mechanic Dejan Rifelj: “I’m happy with my part of the job. I didn’t have too much work with the repairs of bikes. We have a new supplier of tires, now we ride Vredestein. New tires performed excellent, we didn’t have a single puncture in the whole race.”
