Racing in Ardennes, Novak had to stay home
Team Adria Mobil Cycling is racing on the North of France, on the Circuit des Ardennes. 166 kilometers of the first stage from Rocquignya to Poix-Terron is already behind the riders, victory went to Rémi Cavagne (Klein Constantia). He was 3 seconds faster than the peloton, all of Adria’s cyclist were in peleton.

Team Adria Mobil Cycling is racing with Jon Božič, Jure Golčer, Gorazd Per, Matej Drinovec and Kristijan Fajt. Domen Novak got ill just a day before the race and he had to stay in Slovenia. With the form he’s showing lately that is a big infortune for the team.

First stage was very nervous and full of action. There were a lot of escapes, but on the end nothing dramatic happened. All of the Adria’s cyclists are still in the competition for high places. 173 km with 6 mountain finishes are on schedule on Saturday.

Gorazd Per, Adria’s best rider on Friday: “Profile of the stage looked easy, but the race was everything that. We had a pretty calm tempo in the first 80 km of the race, but then we pressed ‘pedals to the metal.’ I was helping Jure Golčer and Kristjan Fajt as much as I could. I don’t have any personal expectations for Saturday, except that I have to finish the stage and help Jure and Kristjan that are in the battle for high overall position.”

Not far away, on race of Flanders in Belgum, David Per and Gašper Katrašnik are putting on their national jerseys. They will race for the Under 23 team of Slovenia on this legendary race. David Per already did very good on Gent-Wevelgen and his ready for another good race: “I expect a fight for high positions. This race was my first big goal in the beginning of the season. I’m in good shape, I proved that on Gent-Wevelgen and GP Adria Mobil, I was fourth on both of them.”
