David Per to the victory of his career
David Per, 21-year old from Novo mesto, won Ronde van Vlaanderen – one of the most prestigious races in the under 23 category – and became second Slovenian winner of this race (after Marko Kump in 2010). Victory in Belgium is his by far biggest result so far. David, member of Adria Mobil Cycling was racing in the jersey of Slovenian national team.

Victory on the Flanders is his greatest result so far, and also biggest success for Adria Mobil in this season. Most of the best under 23 riders were on the race. David Per said that this is an important race for him and he choose this race for main goal of the first part of the season. Today he was simply unbeatable in the finish of seven riders.

David was short with his words after the race: »I’m very happy for this victory. I was thinking about this race since the beginning of the season, I always considered it something special. I like this kind of races very much. I attacked in the last 30 km, on the top of the last climb in the loop. Seven of us stayed out in the lead in we managed to keep minimum gap all the way to the finish. Sprint finally went according to my wishes and I got the most beautiful victory of my career.”

Meanwhile in France
The rest of Adria Mobil Cycling is in France, on the second category race Circuit des Ardennes. Belgian riders took places from one to four, but each of them for their own team. Stage was very difficult, but 43 riders still came to the finish together, and they are contestants for the final overall victory. Kristjan Fajt was very active today, after one second beneficiation he went up to seventh overall.

Jure Golčer: “Kristjan Fajt was attacking all day long, he now wears a jersey of most active cyclist on the race. Six of us got left on the last climb, but we were caught later and we had a sprint finish of a group of about 40 riders.”

Two stages are scheduled for Sunday, after them we’ll get an overall winner of the 42nd edition of this race.
