Dušan Rajović Tenth on First Stage

Flat stage from Osijek to Koprivnica didn’t had much influence on the future development of the race. Five riders escaped on the 35th kilometer and managed to lead even by ten minutes. Breakaway riders Jannik Steimle (Felbermayr Simplon Wels), Ahmet Akdilek (Torku Sekerspor), Michael O'Loughlin (Team Wiggins), Nikolay Trusov (Gazprom-RusVelo) and our own Gregor Gazvoda (Adria Mobil Cycling) didn’t have much success, team with sprinters had the race under control and they made sure that the peloton cross the finish line together.
Sacha Modolo was a favorite for the sprint and he also took the overall lead after stage one.
Day didn’t end with this for the riders, the whole race have to transfer to Trogir, a city that is 600 km away from the today’s finish. Tomorrow’s stage starts in Trogir and finishes with the climb to Sveti Jure; stage is one of the hardest and could be decisive. It’s no secret that Adria Mobil will put its money on Jure Golčer.
Race will go live on Eurosport 2.
